Ticket type – Basis tab
Element |
Description |
Number |
Number of the ticket type |
Name |
Name of the ticket type |
Use frequency |
The use frequency of the ticket type indicates the average number of single trips of a season ticket within its validity period. |
Rank |
Rank of a ticket type in the hierarchy of the ticket types Note This setting is only relevant if several ticket types are defined in the fare system. The lower the number, the higher the preference given to this ticket type per fare zone x demand segment (Fundamentals: Ticket selection in a fare system). |
Fare structure |
In the list with the options of fare modeling, click the fare structure that is suitable for this ticket type (Fundamentals: Base fare calculation):
|
Calculation of distance-based supplements |
Use the list to specify how to calculate distance-based supplements of transport systems. Proportionally The distance-based supplement of a transport system is determined on the basis of the sum of fare points for all TSys and then weighted with the share of the transport system on the path. The distance-based total supplement of the connection results from the sum of the supplements calculated by TSys. Supplement by TSys = number of fare points of TSys / total number of fare points for all TSys • TSys supplement for total number of fare points Additively The distance-based supplement of a transport system is determined on the basis of the number of fare points traversed with this TSys. The distance-based total supplement of the connection results from the sum of the supplements calculated by TSys. Supplement by TSys = TSys supplement for the number of fare points of TSys |
Fixed supplements |
Use the list to specify when to apply fixed supplements. Apply once per transport system For a connection, the fixed supplement for a transport system is applied once, even if the transport system is used on two separate path legs (default). Apply to the top-ranking transport system only For a connection, a fixed supplement is applied which is the supplement that has been set for the top-ranking transport system. The maximum of the supplements will be applied if there are equivalent ranks. Apply to path leg Instead of just once per connection, the fixed TSys supplement is applied for each path leg of the connection. The supplement is thus applied twice if two path legs use the same transport system which is subject to a supplement. |
Consider all stops with a matching transport system |
If this option is selected, all stops that are open for the transport systems of the lines in operation are taken into account when determining the relevant fare zones. |
Only consider stops with a stop of the time profile | If this option is selected, only those stops will be considered at which stops of the time profile exist when determining the relevant fare zones. |
Use fare zone type |
If this option is selected, an additional spatial condition is included in the calculation of fares for the fare structures distance-based fare, short-distance fare, time-based fare, and direct distance fare. This condition is the belonging of stops to a specific fare zone. It is a prerequisite for the use of a ticket type, that all stops of the regarded path leg set are located within the permitted fare zones. If the option has not been checked, the belonging to a fare zone does not enter the fare calculation in case of distance-based fares or time-based fares. Note The option is always active in the Zone-based fare structure, the option is always inactive in the From-To zone-based fare structure. The option cannot be changed in these cases. |
Fare zone type |
Indicates which fare zone is selected for the ticket type. The option is not relevant for ticket types with Fare structure = From-to zone-based fare. Note This field is only active if option Use fare zone type has been selected. |
Allocated fare zones |
Number of allocated fare zones |
Used by fare systems |
Numbers of the fare systems that currently use this ticket type (Defining fare systems) |
Ticket type – Fares tab (depends on the fare structure)
Fares tab for Distance-based fare |
|
Element |
Description |
Number of fare points |
For each fare level, enter the number of fare points that may be traversed. |
Interpolate |
Select the option if the values shall be interpolated for the fare level. |
Fare |
User-defined fare per row. Edit the values directly in the list. |
Fares tab for Zone-based fare |
|
Element |
Description |
Number of fare zones |
For each fare level, enter the number of fare points that may be traversed. The cardinalities of the fare zones also enter the determination of traversed fare zones as well as the Fare zones being traversed multiple times are counted multiple times option. |
Fare |
User-defined fare per row. Edit the values directly in the list. |
Fares tab for From-To zone-based fare |
|
Element |
Description |
From fare zone / To fare zone |
Use the buttons to specify in a separate window between which fare zones the fare shall be valid. Notes If you do not specify a combination, no ticket will exist for it. |
Fare |
User-defined fare for the specified combination of fare zones Note The fare does not have to be symmetrical for the two directions of a relation. |
Create opposite direction |
Mark a row and click this button to add another row with the fare zones at the cross position, to which the same fare applies. If this row already exists, only the fare will be updated. |
Fares tab for Short distance fare |
|
Element |
Description |
Maximum duration |
Max. run time in minutes to which the short-distance fare applies Notes If this option is not relevant, you need to enter a very high value. |
Maximum distance |
Max. distance in km to which the short-distance fare applies Notes If this option is not relevant, you need to enter a very high value. |
Maximum number of stops |
Max. number of stops to which the short-distance fare applies Note If this option is not relevant, you need to enter a very high value. |
Fare |
User-defined fare for the specified conditions |
Ticket type – Count fare zones tab (Zone-based fare / From-To zone-based fare)
Note: This tab is only provided if the ticket type has either fare structure: Zone-based fare or From-To zone-based fare. |
Element |
Description |
Ignore stops without fare zone |
If the option is selected, the calculation will not report an error if there is a stop on the path that is not associated with a fare zone of the specified type. Note By default, the option is not selected. |
Count multiple passes through fare zones multiple times |
If the option is selected, the program counts multiple passes of the same fare zone multiple times as long as the traversed stops differ. This generally leads to a higher fare. Example Stop 1 and stop 2 are allocated to fare zone A. Stop 3 belongs to fare zone B. If a path leads from stop 1 to 2 to 3, two fare zones are counted. Another path leads from stop 1 to 3 to 2. Here, three fare zones are counted. If a path leads from stop 1 to 3 and then back to 1, two fare zones are counted, because stop 1 has already been passed. |
User-defined cardinalities |
User-defined cardinalities If the option has been selected, fare zones can be weighted based on a numeric, integer attribute. Fare zones are counted according to their weighting, which results in increasing fares. Select the Attribute for cardinality in a separate window via the corresponding button. Ignore the cardinalities of first and last fare zones If the option has been selected, first and last fare zones are not weighted. Note Fare zones can be weighted and simultaneously be counted repeatedly. |
Ticket type – Supplements tab
Element |
Description |
TSys code |
TSys code to which the supplement applies |
TSys name |
Name of the transport system to which the supplement applies. |
Fixed fare |
Constant supplement in [currency units] for using the transport system |
Minimum fare |
Minimum fare for a passenger journey using this transport system. If the total fare resulting from the basic fare and the added supplement is still below this minimum fare value, then this minimum fare is charged. |
Rank |
In addition, you can define different ranks. Optionally only the TSys-specific supplement of the topmost rank (smallest rank no.) can enter the fare. If the ranks are equal, only the maximum supplement is charged. |
Has distance supplement |
Specify whether a fare point based distance supplement shall be charged. You set the supplement using the Distance button. In another window you define how the supplement is calculated depending on the distance covered in the transport system. Note The distance is modeled in fare points. |
Apply values |
Via this button you can apply the TSys-specific supplements defined for a different ticket type to the current ticket type. Select the different ticket type in the drop-down list. |
